How We Prepare Your RV for Delivery

How We Prepare Your RV for Delivery

Buying an RV from another state should feel exciting—not complicated. Before your motorhome leaves our dealership, we complete a detailed preparation process designed to make delivery as smooth, safe, and organized as possible.

Our goal is simple: your RV should arrive clean, inspected, documented, and ready for you to enjoy.

1. Final Inspection

Before delivery, we perform a final walk-around and system check to confirm the RV is ready for transport.

This includes reviewing key areas such as:

  • Exterior lights and signals
  • Tires and visible tire condition
  • Battery status
  • Slide-outs and leveling system
  • Generator operation
  • Air conditioning and heating
  • Plumbing and water systems
  • Appliances and interior features
  • Storage compartments and locks

We also check for any issues that may have developed while the RV was being prepared or stored.

2. Service and Mechanical Review

Each RV is reviewed to make sure its major operating systems are functioning properly before delivery.

Depending on the coach and its service history, this may include checking engine fluids, filters, generator operation, battery condition, tire pressure, brakes, cooling systems, and other important components.

For larger diesel motorhomes, we also pay close attention to the chassis, suspension, engine systems, and towing-related equipment.

The purpose is not just to prepare the RV for delivery—it is to help ensure that the coach is ready for its next owner.

3. Interior and Exterior Cleaning

A delivery should feel like a handoff, not like picking up a vehicle from storage.

Before transport, the RV is cleaned inside and out. The interior is prepared so the living space, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, cabinets, and storage areas are presentable upon arrival.

We also make sure loose items are secured for transportation and that compartments, doors, and windows are properly closed.

4. Paperwork Preparation

We prepare the required purchase documents before delivery so the process remains clear and organized.

Depending on the transaction, this may include:

  • Purchase order
  • Bill of sale
  • Warranty documentation
  • Title-related paperwork
  • Delivery information
  • Temporary tag documentation, when applicable
  • Any required buyer identification forms

Having the paperwork prepared in advance helps avoid delays and allows the delivery process to move forward smoothly.

5. Delivery Planning and Transportation Coordination

Once everything is ready, we coordinate the delivery schedule and transportation method.

For long-distance deliveries, the RV may be transported on a professional trailer rather than driven across the country. This helps avoid unnecessary mileage, road exposure, fuel costs, and wear from a long trip.

We also confirm the delivery address, access requirements, and a suitable meeting location if a residential driveway or neighborhood is not ideal for a large motorhome or trailer.

6. Transit Protection

During delivery, the RV is handled as a valuable vehicle—not simply as cargo.

Transportation planning includes securing the unit properly, confirming the route, and ensuring the RV is protected throughout the trip. For larger coaches, this is especially important because of their size, height, weight, and specialized equipment.

7. Delivery Walkthrough

When your RV arrives, the delivery process does not end when it is unloaded.

Our driver can help you become familiar with the main features of the coach, including:

  • Basic operation and controls
  • Electrical hookups
  • Water and sewer connections
  • Generator operation
  • Slide-outs and leveling system
  • Storage compartments
  • Main safety features
  • General questions about the RV

This gives buyers the opportunity to begin learning their motorhome in a comfortable setting—at home or at their preferred delivery location.

Why Proper Delivery Preparation Matters

An RV is more than a vehicle. It is a home on wheels with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and living systems that all need to work together.

Proper preparation helps reduce stress, avoids unnecessary surprises, and gives buyers more confidence in their purchase.

At BRANFORD AUTO SALES LLC, we believe delivery should be organized, professional, and convenient from start to finish. Our focus is to make sure your RV arrives ready for the road ahead.
